The C9200-24PXG-A comes with Network Advantage licensing, providing comprehensive Layer 3 capabilities including OSPF, EIGRP, ISIS, and RIP routing protocols. Cisco IOS XE offers a common licensing framework across the Cisco Catalyst 9000 family, enabling configurable allocation of network resources and superior features for enterprise deployments. The switch supports SD Access architecture, enabling intent based networking journey with micro engine capabilities for policy enforcement. Advanced network monitoring through streaming telemetry and integration with Cisco DNA Center provides network assurance and operational efficiency improvements.
The switch supports optional backplane stacking with StackWise-160 technology, providing stacking bandwidth up to 160 Gbps for up to 8 member switches. This stacking capability creates a single logical switch from multiple physical units, supporting stacking for simplified management and enhanced bandwidth. The modular uplinks provide flexible connectivity options for network expansion, while optional power adapters can be added to support additional PoE requirements. The stack port configurations enable customers to scale their network infrastructure while maintaining centralized management and control.
Within the catalyst 9200 series switches family, the C9200-24PXG-A offers a balanced approach between the entry-level C9200-24P and higher-density C9200-48PXG models. Compared to other catalyst switches, this model provides mGig capabilities typically found in more expensive solutions while maintaining competitive operational costs. The electronic equipment directive compliance and better cost structure make it an attractive option for organizations transitioning from legacy infrastructure. Unlike other vendor offerings, the C9200-24PXG-A delivers an integrated offering that combines performance, security, and management simplicity in a single platform.
The C9200-24PXG-A distinguishes itself through its combination of 8 multi-gigabit ports and 16 standard Gigabit ports with full PoE+ support across all 24 ports. Unlike traditional catalyst switches, this model offers mGig operational efficiency and intent based networking capabilities through deep Cisco DNA Center integration. The switch provides industry’s unparalleled solution for organizations requiring both high-speed connectivity and comprehensive power delivery in a cost-effective package.
The C9200-24PXG-A supports StackWise-160 technology, allowing up to 8 switches to be stacked as a single logical unit with up to 160 Gbps of stacking bandwidth. This supporting stacking architecture provides simplified operations by creating one management plane for up to 384 access ports across the stack. The stack port configuration enables customers to scale their network infrastructure incrementally while maintaining centralized control through a single IP address and management interface.
The switch delivers enhanced security through multiple layers of protection including AES-128 MACsec encryption, policy based segmentation, and integration with Cisco Identity Services Engine for advanced access control. Trustworthy solutions ensure the integrity of hardware and software innovation, while streaming telemetry provides real-time security monitoring capabilities. The policy based automation features enable consistent security policy enforcement across the entire network infrastructure, supporting zero-trust architecture principles.
