The Solidigm – D7-P5520 7.68 TB is a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe solid state drive built for enterprise, data center and cloud servers. It delivers up to 7,100 MB/s sequential read and 4,200 MB/s sequential write, with up to 1.1 million random read IOPS and 220,000 random write IOPS (4K blocks).
That performance makes it a strong fit for AI/ML pipelines, databases, eCommerce and general-purpose cloud servers, where fast random reads and steady sequential writes keep applications responsive.
The D7-P5520 is designed for mixed and mainstream workloads that need low latency. Typical latency is 10 μs for sequential reads and 13 μs for sequential writes, with 75 μs random read and 15 μs random write latency.
Solidigm rates the D7 Series for up to 90% IOPS consistency and under 0.3% performance variability throughout the life of the drive, so performance stays predictable as the drive fills and ages.
This model provides 7.68 TB of 144-layer TLC 3D NAND in a 2.5-inch U.2 15mm form factor, making it compatible with the U.2 NVMe drive bays found in 1U and 2U compute and storage servers.
It is rated for 14.0 PB written over its life (about one full drive write per day over five years) and 2 million hours MTBF, giving it the endurance needed for read-heavy and mixed enterprise use.
The D7-P5520 includes enterprise NVMe features such as PCIe VDM support, variable sector sizes, scatter gather with dataset management, advanced telemetry logs, dynamic namespaces and device self-test. Solidigm validates the D7 Series with power-loss (PLI) testing for real-world conditions.
This is the Generic No Opal version (ordering code SSDPF2KX076T11Z). It is the right choice when TCG Opal self-encrypting drive management isn’t required. If you need Opal or FIPS 140-3 security, ask us about the Opal (SSDPF2KX076T1OZ) or FIPS (SSDPF2KX076T1GF) versions of the same drive.

The D7-P5520 7.68 TB U.2 is offered in three security versions. The drive hardware and performance are the same; only the security features differ.
| Version | Ordering Code | Security | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Generic No Opal (this model) | SSDPF2KX076T11Z | No TCG Opal | Servers that don’t use self-encrypting drive management |
| Generic Opal | SSDPF2KX076T1OZ | TCG Opal 2.0, AES-256 | Environments that require self-encrypting drives |
| Generic FIPS | SSDPF2KX076T1GF | FIPS 140-3 Level 2 | Government and regulated environments |
It is built for mixed and mainstream data center workloads that need low latency and high read performance, such as AI/ML, databases, cloud applications, eCommerce and general-purpose servers. With up to 1.1 million random read IOPS and 7,100 MB/s sequential read, it handles read-heavy work especially well.
The drive uses the standard 2.5-inch U.2 15mm form factor with a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe interface. It fits U.2 NVMe drive bays in most current 1U and 2U servers. It also works in PCIe 3.0 U.2 bays, at PCIe 3.0 speeds. It does not fit SATA-only or SAS-only drive bays.
“No Opal” means this version doesn’t include TCG Opal self-encrypting drive management. Performance, capacity and endurance are the same as the Opal version. If your organization requires self-encrypting drives, choose the Opal version (SSDPF2KX076T1OZ) or the FIPS version (SSDPF2KX076T1GF) instead.
Solidigm rates the 7.68 TB model for 14.0 petabytes written, which is about one full drive write per day over five years, and 2 million hours MTBF. For most read-intensive and mixed enterprise workloads, that is more than enough endurance for the drive’s service life.
The drive draws up to 18W when active and 5W when idle, and operates at 0°C to 70°C. Make sure the server provides adequate airflow over the drive bays, especially in dense deployments.
